17 Aesi, Tyrant Of Gyre Strait Pure Value One of the reasons that Simic is viewed as such a powerful color combination in Commander is that card draw and mana ramp are both integral parts of the format, with blue and green excelling in those areas, respectively

Its just a solid, solid card

This deck aims to counter strong spells, draw lots of cards, and then play a game-winning threat that sticks

You just need to cast spells, land either a Hammer of Nazahn or Sigardas Aid, and then basically ruin everything standing before you with literally no problem and far too many cards in hand

Maelstrom of the Spirit Dragon gives you 5-color fixing early and a powerful dragon tutor late, making it perfect for slower decks that need both consistency and a big payoff

While a lot of these are great they are much narrower than cards like Ponder which can go in any old deck
