Description

A late Muromachi period Sue-Bizen wakizashi blade in koshirae (complete mounting) signed "備州長船祐定" (Bishu Osafune Sukesada)

The style of work in silver is typical of tulwars made in North India and in Pubjab workshops

but the overall condition of the sword is not bad - hilt

Robert Geoffrey Augustus De Montmorency was born on the 15th of August 1828 in Kilkenny

These swords were only in use between 1895 and 1897
