TV COLOURS - Purple Skies, Toxic River LP Australian A Jump from the High

A Jump from the High Dive is a bundle of energy through a focused lens

in an “x-ray clear” vinyl edition that serves as an ideal prism through which to see the hypocrisy ofconsumerist culture

Kinda Kinks features ten pop originals that hint at the longing melodies that would later become a Ray Davies trademark

which contained acoustic versions of songs from his bands Wilco

however as bleak as this album can get with songs such as “Waste of Paint” and “Lover I Don’t Have to Love” advertising life at rock-bottom there is a great variety of breadth Conor Oberst covers in his songwriting all the while the dramatic instrumentation of the album latches on to what he says and exaggerates his every word

TV COLOURS - Purple Skies, Toxic River LP Australian A Jump from the HighHighly recommended. Australia's TV Colours straddles an artful line between noise rock and power pop on "Purple Skies, Toxic River". Effortlessly segueing into prog synth sections from blasts of garage punk and power pop. Check it out.
