Combed Contoured Egg Vase in Cobalt & Natural Ash Glazes, 7.5"h (Pots From The Past) Stardust Green Matte Microcrystalline Series A unique piece of NCA classic shape from the Owen Family that has been made for three generations and is one of the most popular forms that Ben Owen III enjoys creating. Heavily influenced by the Mei Peng vases made in early Chinese clay culture. The Cobalt Blue glaze was applied to the vase prior to loading the kiln. The natural wood firing process with intentional wood ash exposure to the hot clay vessels creates a natural glaze from the minerals in the wood ash.
