The blunt cigar grip is 5 1/2" long and has in my opinion likely been replaced as most of the Clapp and Treat rods had a band of lignum vitae in the middle of the grip
The screw heads on the side plates show signs of having been disassembled and a few are at 80% original while the rest are 95%

The reel weighs 11. 3 ounces on my scale. Excellent used condition with minor wear typical for a reel of its age. The rims have some tarnish and a tiny bit of wear in the "resting place" though it is minor indeed. There is a little bit of staining around the rim joint on both sides where they were soldered together (fairly typical). The side plates are
