The paisley pattern, or boteh, means cluster of leaves in Farsi, but what the boteh represents is a topic of hot debate is it a shrub, a pinecone, a parrot, a mango, fire, palm crown? Don't know. The shekeri border adds a tribal feel to the rug as do her mostly muted colors, sage green, madder red, gold, allow her perfect red to shine.
