Victorian 1845 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword, Maynard & Harris Swedish A large wooden kris hiltVictorian 1845 Pattern Infantry Officers Sword. Retailed by Maynard and Harris, 126 Leadenhall St., London. Fold down guard. Centre of Percussion marked on the spine. Proof disc features a 6 pointed star formed of thick wavy rays, surrounded by PROVED. This is usually attributed to Thurkle blades. Maynard and Harris became Maynard, Harris & Grice in 1860. Fold down guards fell out of fashion in the 1860s, which would place this sword around that date.
