Practical recommendations for patients include: Eating slowly and stopping when comfortably full, even if food remains on the plate Choosing nutrient-dense foods to ensure adequate nutrition despite reduced intake Avoiding high-fat meals, which may exacerbate nausea and delayed gastric emptying Staying hydrated throughout the day, as reduced food intake may decrease fluid consumption Monitoring for signs of dehydration or nutritional deficiencies If taking insulin or sulfonylureas, monitoring blood glucose closely as dose adjustments may be needed to prevent hypoglycemia Patients should contact their healthcare provider immediately if they experience severe or persistent abdominal pain (with or without vomiting), which could indicate pancreatitis
