Personalization: Genetic Testing Reveals Your Peptide Pathway Individual responses to semaglutide vary based on genetic predisposition to GLP-1 sensitivity
Centrally, IRS1 dysfunction is associated with cognitive decline in AD [141]
Some providers prescribe sub-2.5mg doses for patients who are especially sensitive to GLP-1 receptor agonists, have a history of severe GI side effects, or are transitioning from another medication and need an ultra-gradual introduction

"Weight loss was associated with greater high-sensitivity CRP reduction in both treatment groups," said study presenter Jorge Plutzky, MD, director of Preventive Cardiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts, but "with increased high-sensitivity CRP reductions in those receiving semaglutide." The drug also "significantly reduced high-sensitivity CRP early," he said, "prior to major weight loss and in those who did not lose significant amounts of weight." The reductions reached approximately 12% at 4 weeks and around 20% at 8 weeks, when the weight loss "was still quite modest," at 2% and 3% of body weight, respectively
The primary outcome of this study was percentage change in body weight from baseline to 68 weeks, while the key secondary outcome was the proportion of patients achieving a body weight reduction 5%
