Abstract The present study is the first effort to evaluate the effects of vitamin B12 supplementation on the serum level of liver enzymes, homocysteine, grade of hepatic steatosis, and metabolic profiles in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
Many studies suggest that vitamin B12 supplementation can be beneficial for those with anxiety and depression, particularly if they have low levels of the vitamin
This protein must be present to combine with B12 in order for our bodies to absorb and use it
Patients with gastrointestinal disorders, such as Crohns disease, celiac disease, or those who have undergone gastrointestinal surgeries like bariatric surgery, may also find B12 injections advantageous
Patients with this condition or those with a family history suggestive of Lebers disease should avoid cyanocobalamin-containing products or use alternative forms of vitamin B12 such as hydroxocobalamin under careful medical supervision
That said, responsible use requires medical supervision
