Known for its smoky whiskies, Bowmore is, however, one of the milder representatives of the island with about 35 ppm smoke content in the malt. In addition to its bottlings, the distillery is known for Vault No. 1 the only warehouse in Scotland located below sea level. Bowmore 14 Years matured in ex bourbon casks and received a finish in Bordeaux wine casks.
