The T 72 M1 tank set includes a double set of markings for East Germany and the USSR. East Germany purchased over 500 tanks of this type from the USSR, Poland and Czechoslovakia. After German reunification in the 1990s, the tanks were withdrawn from service. In the USSR, the tank entered service in 1971.
