feeling quick fairly far up the rod but still with plenty of flex
These are desirable fly boxes
I can see only the tiniest amount of brassing inside the snake guides
No varnish issues and good ferrule fits
Original bag with the hang tag and tube with brass top and bottom
Leonard Tournament Fly Rod 9' 3/2 #5/6 4 Weight feeling quick fairly far upA nice early Leonard Tournament fly rod, 9' 3 piece, 2 tip built for a #5 or #6 line. Medium action. I'm guessing a 1930's date on this rod. Varnished and with a three up node pattern construction. Patent date stamped on the butt ferrule. Small reverse twist guides are most suitable for silk lines. Wrapped yellow with cinnamon edges, fore and aft at the keeper, at the male ferrules, and the agate tip tops. The agate stripper is in good condition.
