Christmas Cataract
but well updated
which is not immediately apparent
A handsome set of maps showing us the world as it was known in the middle of the 19th century
Complimented by strong hand color
Holland - Central/S. America Christmas CataractTallis produced some to the most decorative maps issued in the 19th century. All have baroque vignettes and unique ornate borders. The map of Holland is surrounded by three vignettes in which two are quite large relating to native life of the region including one of Rotterdam and a scene On the Dart. Condition is very good. Image size is 13 inches x 10 inches with some outline color.
