The tips have the same random node distribution and the nodes themselves are also about 1/4" larger than the butt section
The 8'6 configuration weighs 4
Excellent all-black type-III anodizing except for the centre medallion and the counterweight which are done in chrome

Marty Karstetter Fly Rod 8'6" 2/2 #5 9'6" weight 3 1/2 ozA nice Marty Karstetter hollow built bamboo rod, 8'6", 2 piece, 2 tips, built for a #5 line. Serial #20013. Two opposed node construction with a medium wheatstraw colored cane. Rod weighs 3. 7 ounces on my scale, with a medium fast action. Excellent used condition with some soiling to the grip, some reel food indentations on the spacer, and a small hook dig in the cane above the stripping guide, but in nice condition overall. Good varnish throughout.
