These two wonderful drinking bowls were made by indigenous Canelos Quichua women in the Oriente (upper Amazonian) region of Ecuador

The hand painted design really a drawing on clay reminds me of a map with shape shifting land masses, and I think the polka dot and striped patterns, rendered in purple, peach, and charcoal, are pretty terrific too, The platter measures 15" in diameter and 1 1 4" tall, and is signed Monk on the
